Lymph is Good
chronicles the journey of an active 30-something Dallas-ite trying to keep her head up while grappling with primary lymphedema.

You Know?

I had an interview today. Bandaged. I’ve had interviews before. Bandaged. But this one was different. First of all, I had now been to the same company two or three times to interview, so was semi-familiar with the process. Being bandaged this time around didn’t feel like that big of a deal… even though each time before it did feel like a big deal. I try to make it look good, wearing my Stemwear and trying to “just be cool about it.” But, again, this time was different.

At the end of the interview, while we were wrapping up with final questions, the guy asked me if I had lymphedema. He asked me if I had lymphedema! Like asked me. “Do you have lymphedema?” My jaw must have literally fell open. He then continued, “... because my wife has it and I think that the two of you would have a great time together. I’d love to introduce you two.”

Crazy. We then had a fairly lengthy conversation about his wife’s condition, and how long she’s had it, and when it started, and how she handles everything.

We’re meeting up for lunch next week. How fun is that?! (TBD on if I get the job though…)
