Lymph is Good
chronicles the journey of an active 30-something Dallas-ite trying to keep her head up while grappling with primary lymphedema.

"You workout too much."

This statement may be true. I may workout too much. I may be more physically active than most people. I may have a sick and twisted version of pleasure that involves sweating and making my muscles hurt and pushing myself to be better, faster, stronger. I may workout too much. My limits on physical activity are constantly being negotiated. Me and my limits are becoming better friends… it takes time. There is so much for us to learn about each other.

But here is the flip side. For the lymphatic system to move the interstitial fluid through your body (as to not build up) it needs movement. Sitting around elevated is only good sometimes. There is a line to walk: Be active, but not too active. Stay elevated, but not too elevated. Wear compression, but not too much compression.

I may workout too much. Sure. But, I can't sit around and elevate all day.
